Malvirà - Harvest and awards
A few days ago, our Malvirà winery finished harvesting the white Arneis grapes. In a few days, they will start harvesting from Barbera and Nebbiolo. From a weather perspective, the Alba region was particularly lucky, especially over the past few months: the grapes are healthy, with high sugar content and balanced acidity. This is proving to be a good vintage year.
Over the past few weeks, Malvirà received a number of awards for its wines. We are particularly proud of our Roero Riserva Mombeltramo 2010, which won Gambero Rosso's 'Tre Bicchieri' (Three Glasses) and Bibenda's 'Cinque Grappoli' (Five Bunches) awards. The Roero Riserva Renesio 2009 placed 15th in the 'Best Italian Wine Awards - I 50 Migliori Vini d'Italia'. The Roero Trinità 2010 received a 'Corona' (Crown) from Vini Buoni d'Italia, and the Roero Riserva Renesio 2010 received the AIS prize.
